Lessons Learned From Today’s Adventure on Pinnacle Mountain:

Never assume that a dog is following the trail.
A dog will always poop at the beginning of the trail, forcing you to carry a poop bag for an hour.
After several days of pouring rain, the trail will be very wet and muddy.
The 100 lb dog that used to daintily walk around puddles to avoid getting her feet wet, will learn to happily splash through muddy puddles when there is no way around them.
Buying the Gortex trail shoes was a good idea.
